In the small fishing village of Matala where the caves became a paradise for the «hippies» in the 70's, you can find CALYPSO HOTEL.
The hotel is situated a couple of hundred meters from the beach. The road to the beach is just a pleasant walk with a great view through the beautiful nature Cretan nature.

Trips in the surroundings are easy to make. There are historical places you can visit in the neighborhood but also quiet traditional villages and beaches like e.g. Agia Galini or Komos. Even by bus or scooter you can reach everywhere.
Heraklion is by bus only in 60 minutes to go.
